The Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence

’33 Years of Unparalleled Prestige’

Celebrating 33 Years of Business Excellence in the Western Sydney Region

The Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE) is the premier platform for the Greater Western Sydney Region. Founded by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce in 1990, this initiative is celebrating it’s 33rd anniversary in 2023. The WSABE platform annually recognises outstanding business leaders and organisations who are actively contributing to Western Sydney region’s rapidly developing economy. Since it’s inception in 1990, WSABE has acted as a launching pad for many of Western Sydney’s high profile businesses and professionals, and across 32 years of operation has received more than 5,000 entries. Since 2015, WSABE have been archiving our winners and maintaining an alumni group, which can be viewed here.

Since 2016, the strategy, production and marketing behind the growth of the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence has been managed by Gandhi Creations, a multi-award-winning social enterprise.

Entering WSABE

Beginning your WSABE journey is incredibly easy and can be done from the comfort of your own home or office via our online entry portal. Aside from the criteria and assessment questions, entrants are only required to complete several minor contact fields and screening questions. Importantly, submitting a WSABE entry is completely free Entering across multiple categories is permitted and encouraged if you feel as though your accolades are relevant to more than one set of award criteria. Entries for WSABE 2023 will be opening on Friday 17th March 2022.

The Judging Process

Each year, WSABE works in conjunction with an extensive range of industry experts and professionals to determine the finalists and ultimately winners of each category. Working with an independent panel of experts contributes an added degree of credibility and prestige to the WSABE Awards, as it ensures that each finalist and winner are truly among the very best in their industry. To ensure consistency, multiple judges are assigned to each category to produce several scores which are then collated and averaged to produce a final score. Judging is kept entirely confidential throughout the entire judging process, and the names of the judges are revealed only once the process is complete. The panel also operates on a rotational basis and is revised annually.

A Comprehensive 9-Month Program

Through a range of engaging events, networking opportunities, and digital marketing campaigns, the WSABE platform provides a wealth of opportunities for those involved to grow their brand, enhance their reputation, and truly make their mark within Western Sydney’s business community. Beginning with a Soft Launch in March, the WSABE program features a total of four events in it’s annual campaign including an exclusive finalist event, an exclusive winners and sponsors event, and the pinnacle event of the WSABE program, the annual Awards Gala. In between these events however, finalists are profiled extensively through WSABE’s online communications platforms. Following the conclusion of the WSABE Awards, finalists and winners are invited to join an alumni group to ensure they remain connected with Western Sydney’s business community.

Being part of the community of organisations associated with the Chamber along with those who attended on the night gives us a genuine connection with business within Western Sydney. The process in the lead up to the awards night including the nomination process was seamless and we were honoured that our marketing campaign won this award and can therefore be seen to resonate with the community in which we are part of.”

I would like to thank this wonderful team who continues to drive the business, helping with our investment in new technologies and providing the business with the platform and resources to be able to develop, grow and innovate.

Thank you to the WSABE and the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity and the recognition.

-Greg Green, DCL Engineering, Managing Director.

To win the Excellence in Arts and Culture Award for the second year in a row is deeply validating especially as they coincide with the two hard years of COVID. Within and without the organisation it confirms we are making the difference we hope to achieve, galvanising us into a common purpose. For every member of the team, the over 100 artists we employ, the over 70 partners we work with, the recognition of the excellence we achieve through our programs and for the people we serve energises us to continue to provide the platform for our stories to be told and celebrated.

-Michael Campbell, WestWords Executive Director.
