Western Sydney celebrates business excellence

at WSABE Silver Legacy Gala

The Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE) celebrated its 35th annual gala evening on Friday 26 September 2025 at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park, honouring the region’s most outstanding businesses, innovators and leaders.

Hosted by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, the evening carried special significance as it marked a “Silver Legacy” milestone, celebrating 35 years of WSABE, 20 years of Waterview and befittingly held at Sydney Olympic Park which marks 25 years since the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

The evening brought together Western Sydney’s most influential business leaders, government representatives and community champions in a celebration of the lasting legacy these businesses are creating through innovation, leadership and community impact.

2025 Gala Venue

Set against the lush backdrop of Bicentennial Park, Waterview blends natural beauty with contemporary elegance, making it the perfect stage for the 2025 WSABE Gala. As Waterview marks its own 20 year anniversary, the venue’s soaring ceilings, expansive wrap around terrace and panoramic views of tranquil lakes and parklands promise an atmosphere worthy of two milestones in one evening.

The Gala Experience

Guest Speaker

The Hon Janelle Saffin MP

WSABE was pleased to welcome The Hon. Janelle Saffin MP as our Guest Speaker. Janelle Saffin has been State Member for Lismore in New South Wales since March 2019. She was appointed NSW Minister for Recovery, Small Business and the North Coast on 17 March 2025.

We were honoured to welcome The Hon. Damien Tudehope MLC, Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations, as one of our distinguished guest speakers. A long standing advocate for business and community in Western Sydney, Mr Tudehope shed light on the small businesses driving the region’s growth and shaping its economic future.

On behalf of DCL Engineering we are very grateful and honored to be receiving this award – WSABE Patrons Choice for 2021.

61 years ago this year, my father, Bill Green started our Company and this award is a testament to his dedicated hard work & work ethic and a recognition of our company’s continual growth.

I would like to thank this wonderful team who continues to drive the business, helping with our investment in new technologies and providing the business with the platform and resources to be able to develop, grow and innovate.

Thank you to the WSABE and the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity and the recognition.

We look forward to our next 60 years of further innovations for DCL Engineering.

-Greg Green, DCL Engineering, Managing Director.

To win the Excellence in Arts and Culture Award for the second year in a row is deeply validating especially as they coincide with the two hard years of COVID. Within and without the organisation it confirms we are making the difference we hope to achieve, galvanising us into a common purpose. For every member of the team, the over 100 artists we employ, the over 70 partners we work with, the recognition of the excellence we achieve through our programs and for the people we serve energises us to continue to provide the platform for our stories to be told and celebrated.

-Michael Campbell, WestWords Executive Director.
